Kansas City Named Among the 15 Best Startup Cities in U.S.

Kansas City, Missouri, ranks 10th in a new report that highlights “The 15 Best Startup Cities” in the U.S. The analysis was done by Real Estate Witch.

Kansas City made the top 10 thanks to its low business costs and homegrown investor support from organization like the Kauffman Foundation. The Kansas City-based nonprofit provides capital to entrepreneurs, especially women, people of color, and founders who invest in underserved communities.

Real Estate Witch compared the 50 most populous U.S. metro areas across 12 metrics. The weighted rankings evaluated several criteria, including business applications per 100,000 people in the last five years, employment growth in the last 12 months, average annual income, LLC filing fees, incorporation filing fees, corporate tax rate, chief executives per 1,000 people, Google Trends data and patents filed per 1,000 people in the last five years.
