Geospatial Company Expands, Adds 50 Jobs in Missouri

Maxar Technologies, a public space and intelligence company, is expanding with a new office in St. Louis, Missouri. The company currently has more than a dozen employees working in St. Louis, and plans to grow its local workforce to 50.

Maxar Technologies helps the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) condense vast amounts of imagery data and gain insights from it.

“We process over 4 million square kilometers of imagery a day,” said Maxar CEO Dan Jablonsky. “If you were an intelligence analyst it would take you about 80-plus years to get through that amount of data.”

Maxar was drawn to St. Louis, Missouri, in part by the NGA, which plans to establish its new western HQ on the city’s north side. But Jablonsky said the company was also attracted by the broader geospatial community that is growing in the region.
