Missouri is expected to have the highest growth in clean energy jobs in 2016 of any Midwestern state, according to a report by Clean Jobs Midwest.  Missouri’s growth is predicted at 8.3% for 2016, which is vastly higher than any other state measured, and higher than the overall growth of the Midwest region, which is estimated at 4.4% for the year.

Missouri had 52,479 clean energy jobs in 2015, leading the Midwest in energy storage jobs.  Additionally, Missouri’s solar market has grown 84,000% since 2009, compared to only 766% growth in the US market as a whole.  Missouri’s low cost of energy combined with low costs of living and doing business, positioned the state as a prime location for manufacturers in the energy sector.
