A Look Back: Kraft Heinz Expansion A Huge Win For Missouri’s Economy

shutterstock_50999617All month long Missouri Partnership is taking a look back at 31 of Missouri’s biggest stories in economic development from 2016. Today we are taking a look back at Kraft Heinz’s expansion in Kirksville, Missouri.

On June 20, Kraft Heinz announced a new $250 million expansion project for its Kirksville, Missouri, plant. The expanded facility is 450,000 sq. ft., and will add more than 200 new jobs to the region when at full capacity.

The plant added seven new production lines, and is Kraft Heinz’s sole domestic producer of bologna, white round turkey, cotto salami and square-cut ham. The Missouri facility has an output of nearly one million packages per day.
