Peabody Energy Corp. said today that it has signed an agreement with Cambridge, Mass.-based GreatPoint Energy to develop plants that would convert coal to synthetic gas and hydrogen.
The number of plants, cost and location weren’t specified, but Peabody and GreatPoint indicated they would pursue projects in and outside the U.S., the companies said in a joint statement.
