New distributor to Republic, expected creation of 32 new jobs

The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) announced today that Covington Retail Partners, a Springfield-based company, will build a new distribution center in Republic. The company’s expansion project will include a capital investment of $1,725,000 million and is expected to create 32 new jobs.

Covington Retail Partners is currently leasing a 20,000 square foot warehouse in Springfield, but has outgrown the facility. The new distribution and warehouse center in Republic will also house corporate offices and allow for further company growth as the new facility will be more logistically suited to serve its clients. The new, expanded facility will supply Ashley Furniture Homestores in Joplin and Springfield as well as future stores in Missouri yet to be named. Since its founding in 2007, Covington Retail Partners has experienced rapid growth; Springfield Business Journal named it one of the fastest growing companies in Southern Missouri. Covington Retail Partners now operates four locations in Missouri and Arkansas and has more than 120 employees nationwide.
