Missouri’s financial jobs growth earns No. 10 ranking

The banking industry appears to have regained some vigor during the past 10 years, with 21 states showing higher financial-sector employment. But the industry isn’t out of the woods 23 states lost financial jobs during the past year.

Missouri and Kansas both posted 10-year gains, but their fates diverged during the past year, according to a federal data analysis by G. Scott Thomas of The Business Journals. Missouri ranked 10th, adding 3,400 jobs in the financial sector during the past decade for an April total of 163,200.
