Ground Broken On $260 Million Expansion, Expected To Create 2,500 New Jobs

Ballpark Village, a restaurant and entertainment hub next to St. Louis, Missouri’s Busch Stadium, and co-owned by the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, broke ground on its new $260 million expansion. The project is expected to produce more than 1,500 construction jobs and 1,000 permanent jobs to the region, and has a planned completion date of 2019.

Included in the expansion are a 297-unit apartment building, an 8-story 216-room hotel and a new, 10-story, 117,000 square-foot office building. Officials promised the next phase would transform Ballpark Village from an entertainment district “into a dynamic, vibrant, 24/7 neighborhood.”
