Brookings: Missouri in Top 10 for Advanced Industry Growth

MakeThumbnail.aspxA report released last week by the Brookings Institution tracked the growth of advanced manufacturing industries across the US, and discovered that Missouri was in the top 10 for both output and jobs.

From 2013-2015, Missouri’s advanced industry annual average growth in output was 4.26 percent and in jobs was 3.57 percent – ranking us 8th and 6th in the nation respectively.  This workforce produced more than $36 billion dollars in output during 2015.

The national average for output growth was 2.7 percent and for jobs was 2.46 percent.

When compared to our surrounding states, Missouri outperforms every single one in output growth, and all but one in job growth.
