The St. Joseph region includes 18 counties that have significant strength in agtech, advanced manufacturing, distribution and financial and professional services.
The Dean L. Hubbard Center for Innovation at Northwest Missouri State University and the Kit Bond Science and Technology Incubator at Missouri Western University see advances in these key industries on an ongoing basis. And Germany’s Boehringer Ingelheim is the largest employer in the KC Animal Health Corridor, employing nearly 1,000 people in the St. Joseph region as they work on developing innovative vaccine and pharmaceutical products for the prevention and treatment of diseases in swine cattle, equine and companion animal markets.
If you need to move things, the St. Joseph region is traversed by two Interstates and several U.S. highways including the four-lane US 36 that runs across the northern half of Missouri providing on of the least congested east-west shipping routes in the area. And St. Joseph is home to the C-130 “Top Gun” school, training C-130 pilots from all over the world.
