Homegrown Success: St. Louis-based Build-A-Bear Workshop Opening its First Store in Italy

Italy’s first Build-A-Bear store will be located inside Hamleys, the world’s oldest toy store chain, on Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, a well-known historic shopping street in Milan. The store will be operated by Giochi Preziosi and aligns with Build-a-Bear’s recent focus on adding stores in tourist and family-centered areas as well as growing its corporate-managed and partner-operated stores. 

Build-A-Bear Workshop is a specialty retail company known for its unique and interactive approach to creating customized stuffed animals. The company places a strong emphasis on the in-store experience, which is designed to be engaging and entertaining. It often includes interactive stations, staff assistance, and a celebratory atmosphere. The company was founded in Missouri 1997 by Maxine Clark and now has 500 global locations.
