ROHA to expand St. Louis plant

ROHA Food Colors is investing $5 million to expand its St. Louis facility to meet the growing demand for synthetic and natural colors in the United States and Canada.

Construction at the St. Louis location will begin Sept. 1 and be finished by Jan. 31, 2012. ROHA has been manufacturing liquid and dispersion colors at the St. Louis facility since 2003 and natural colors since 2009, CEO Rohit Tibrewala said. The St. Louis plant has about 30 employees, he said. ROHA describes itself as the fastest growing global manufacturer of natural and synthetic colors for food and beverages, paints, fertilizers, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, growing at about 25 percent per year since 2006.
