Report: Business tax burden low in Missouri

The tax burden on Missouri businesses is among the lowest in the nation, while Illinois’ tax burden ranks lower than about half the country, according to a report released Wednesday.
Missouri ranked eighth among 50 states and the District of Columbia for business income that goes toward state and local taxes including property taxes, license taxes and fees, corporate income tax unemployment compensation and sales taxes, among others.
