Moore Gear adds 34 new jobs in Hermann, DED announces

The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) today announced that local manufacturer Moore Gear and Manufacturing Company will invest more than $1.8 million to increase production capacity at its Hermann facility. The expansion project is expected to create 34 new jobs in the next five years.

“Missouri’s tradition of manufacturing excellence is built on companies like Moore Gear— family-owned businesses who hire locally, ship their products all over the world, and reinvest in their communities,” said Gov. Jay Nixon. “The state is proud to partner with Moore Gear on their expansion and grateful for their commitment to growing in Hermann.”

Moore Gear was founded in the 1930s in St. Louis and moved to Hermann, Mo. in 1987. The company manufactures custom gears and gear racks for the industrial, agricultural, machine tool, and commercial markets throughout North America. Propelled by its growing client base, Moore Gear plans to expand its facility by an additional 17,500 square feet of space.
