Joe Edwards’ Moonrise Hotel along the Delmar Loop will soon have a new event space topped with a roof made of 107 solar panels.
Microgrid Solar installed the glass solar panels as part of the hotel’s new New Moon Room, a 2,100-square-foot event space opening in April. It cost about $100,000 for the solar panels, plus installation, Edwards told the Business Journal. The solar panels will act as a 2,100-square-foot ceiling for the New Moon Room space and provide 33,000 kilowatts of energy.
