Monsanto to test first USDA-approved corn genetically engineered to tolerate drought

U.S. farmers across the Western Great Plains will soon plant Monsanto’s newest drought-tolerant corn as part of on-farm trials. The DroughtGard Hybrids are designed to help farmers mitigate the risk of yield loss when experiencing drought. The large-scale trials will take place with 250 growers on up to 10,000 acres across the Western Great Plains, the product’s target launch area. more
