In January 2025, IKO, a global leader in roofing and waterproofing products, announced plans to open a new granule facility for its subsidiary, Bismarck Granules, in Bismarck, Missouri. The company is investing more than $120 million in the facility, which will supply granules to IKO’s shingle plants across the U.S. This project is expected to create over 50 new jobs in the region, bolstering the local economy.

In March 2025, the fast-growing e-commerce platform, OpenStore, will be opening its first-ever fulfillment center in Kansas City, Missouri. The project will create 30 jobs and is expected to begin operations in early 2025. The facility will focus on producing high-quality cabinetry and millwork, utilizing advanced manufacturing processes.
