Missouri Wins 2019: NASA Lander Powered By Missouri-Made Batteries Snaps “Selfie” On Mars

All month long, Missouri Partnership is taking a look back at some of Missouri’s biggest stories in economic development from the past year. Today we are taking a look back at NASA’s InSight Lander’s selfie from the surface of the planet Mars.

In January, NASA’s new Mars InSight lander snapped its first selfie on the Red Planet. The lander touched down on the surface of Mars in November, and was the culmination of years of work by thousands of individuals, and it is powered by batteries made right here in Missouri.
