Missouri jobless rate drops to lowest level since 2007

According to seasonally adjusted data released today by the Missouri Department of Economic Development, Missouri’s unemployment rate fell by three-tenths of a point in October to 5.0 percent, the lowest rate since April 2007.

Missouri’s nonfarm payroll employment also increased by 1,400 jobs over the month.

Among the industries that experienced increases in employment in October were Health Care & Socal Assistance with 5,500 new jobs, Construction with 2,800 new jobs, and Professional & Business Services with 3,700 new jobs. September employment estimates were also revised up by 5,000.
