More Missourians have jobs than ever before, according to the latest jobs report released by the Missouri Department of Economic Development. Missouri gained more than 15,000 jobs in the month of April bringing total nonfarm employment to a new record high of 2,816,200 people employed, beating the current record of 2,810,700 people employed, which was set in 2008.

Missouri has seen its nonfarm employment rise by more than 37,100 jobs over the past year, and has had an unemployment rate below the national average for the past 23 consecutive months.

With its strategic location, globally connected infrastructure, stable fiscal atmosphere, economic diversity, competitive business and labor costs, certified work-ready communities, highly-skilled and hard working talent, quality of life, reliable and inexpensive energy, available and affordable real estate, aggressive and performance-based incentives and a statewide commitment to attracting companies and investment, Missouri is a place where companies come to grow and thrive.
