KC Council approves $1.6B in incentives for Cerner campus

The Kansas City Council approved a $1.635 billion tax incentive package that will assist Cerner Corp. in developing a massive new campus at the former Banister Mall area.

The council voted 10-1 in favor of the proposal, The Kansas City Star reports. Councilman Russ Johnson opposed the deal because of the level of tax incentives involved.
