Ground Broken on Missouri Innovation Campus in Lee’s Summit

Gov. Jay Nixon joined with education leaders from the Kansas City area and the University of Central Missouri to break ground on the new Missouri Innovation Campus in Lee’s Summit.

The goal of the Innovation Campus, which was launched in 2012, is to cut the time it takes to earn a degree and reduce student debt. Students in the program are given training and internship opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.
