Community Wholesale Tire, one of the Midwest’s largest tire distributors, projects annual sales of $9 million from a newly opened warehouse in Springfield, Missouri, after its first year in operation.
The Hazelwood-based company spent about $4 million on the new warehouse building and other fixed assets. The 65,000-square-foot distribution warehouse, which opened in July, was built as a spec building in Springfield’s North Creek Business Park. Together with the company’s Hazelwood headquarters and a leased Kansas City warehouse, the new site brings its total warehouse space to more than 500,000 square feet.
The company added a dozen new jobs in opening the Springfield warehouse, bringing its employee count to about 185, and looks to add up to eight more workers as more sales routes are added from that location, Berra said.
