Union Pacific rolls out new Missouri built rail car

Union Pacific unveiled today its new AutoFlex rail car, built and designed at the company’s De Soto plant.

The 90-foot-long AutoFlex, which carries vehicles, can be transformed from two to three decks, based on the customer’s vehicle shipment needs. Smaller vehicles would be transported on three decks, and large vehicles on two. Traditional vehicle-carrying rail cars have either two or three decks and can’t be converted from one to the other.
