Missouri’s regulatory environment is 5th best in the U.S.

Missouri’s regulatory environment is ranked 5th best in the nation, according to Forbes’ latest report on the “Best States for Business and Careers.” Missouri also ranked favorably for best business costs and quality of life, ranking at No. 23 and No. 26 respectively. The state ranked at No. 31 overall.

Forbes’ Best States ranking looks at 36 data points across six main areas: business costs, labor supply, regulatory environment, economic climate, growth prospects and quality of life. Business costs, which include labor, energy and taxes, are weighted the most heavily. The report relied on 11 data sources; research firm Moody’s Analytics was the most-utilized resource.
