Emerson unit to supply technology to Nevada solar project

Emerson Process Management, a business of St. Louis-based Emerson, has been awarded a contract to supply its Ovation technology for the Crescent Dunes Solar Energy Project near Tonopah, Nev.

Emerson’s technology will control the circuit and heating process of the molten salt system, the water and steam cycle and auxiliary processes for the 110-megawatt solar power plant. The Emerson system will also provide control of the mirrors and work along side the turbine control system. The solar facility is expected to come online by the end of the year.
