Divergence wins $500,000 in grants for crop parasite work

St. Louis biotech firm Divergence Inc. said Tuesday it received two Small Business Innovation Research grants totaling $500,000, along with renewed funding from the National Corn Growers Association, to support its work to prevent crop damage from parasites.

Parasitic nematode worms limit the yield of crops worldwide and cause tens of billions of dollars in crop damage a year.
