Competition will give $50K each to 10 tech startups to move to KC

A new startup competition with some hefty state funding aims to further the Kansas City tech sector’s momentum.
Nonprofit LaunchKC is introducing a competition that will dole out a total of $500,000 in grants to 10 high-growth tech startups if they move to Kansas City, hopefully in Downtown.

After filtering through applications, LaunchKC will select 10 firms to receive a $50,000 grant and a year of free office space at either Think Big Partners LLC or Lead Bank. In addition to mentoring support, startups also will receive free legal, accounting, marketing, cloud computing and educational opportunities at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
