Coca-Cola distribution facility brings 50 new jobs to Joplin

The grand opening of the 56,000 square foot Coca-Cola distribution center in Crossroads Industrial Park has added 50 new jobs to the Joplin area market, according to distribution center Manager Jarrett Boyes.
Officials – including Joplin Mayor Melodee Colbert-Kean, Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce President Rob O’Brian, State Senator Ron Richards and Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon – held a ceremony celebrating the opening on May 29.

The facility, which is a consolidation of Joplin’s previous Virginia Ave. facility and three other Midwest distribution centers, employs a total of 100. According to Boyes, the facility has the capacity to distribute 2.5 million cases of product annually. Those products include 500 different varieties, from soda products to flavored water.
