Children’s Mercy gets $1M for genome center

Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics received a $1 million grant to help establish the world’s first genome center in a children’s hospital, the hospital said in a release on Monday.
The grant from the William T. Kemper Foundation will help found the Center for Pediatric Genomic Medicine at Children’s Mercy. The center will allow the hospital to have a child’s genome decoded and analyzed in a little as two days, the release said.
