Alliant Tech Systems announced Monday that it received $372 million in orders from the U.S. Army Contracting Command in Rock Island, Ill., to be produced at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence.
This is the first significant order for the plant this year. The plant is in the second year of a four-year contract to produce 5.56mm, 7.62mm and .50-caliber ammunition for the U.S. Army.
